COVID-19 coronavirus: March 20 update

As of March 16, the Canadian Police College (CPC) has postponed the delivery of all courses until April 20, 2020. New dates for the delivery of these courses will be identified in the coming weeks. The CPC will continue to work with Public Health Officials and to monitor the measures put in place to address the spread of the virus. Should there be a requirement to postpone additional courses , we will inform participants and their respective agencies with as much notice as possible.

Leading up to the decision to suspend training, the CPC had taken a number of precautions to ensure the health and safety of our staff, course participants and guests who were attending the CPC facilities. These measures include cleaning all touch surfaces three times a day, closure of all self-serve stations in the cafeteria and closure of common areas such as the exercise room, gym, etc.

We are proactively disinfecting all campus buildings and guest rooms in preparation for normal operations. Sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizer and information booklets on how to prevent the spread of the virus are available in all common areas. Additionally, individuals who exhibited flu like symptoms were referred to the public health agency of jurisdiction and underwent the required protocols including social isolation and testing. All individuals who were tested were negative.

The CPC will continue to provide updates on its website as the situation evolves. The health and safety of our staff and course participants remains our top priority.
