A strategic leadership workshop for Police Executives
October 6-7, 2010 - Edmonton AB
Values and ethics issues often arise in human interaction, especially in policing. Front-line officers and managers make publicly accessible
decisions in a fast-paced and conflict-based environment, and are routinely scrutinized for their decisions and actions both internally and
externally. As police executives, we must cultivate ethical practices in our ranks and support its development at every stage, ensuring that police officers use a shared value system. The forward-thinking police agency is one that addresses ethical concerns before they become systemic.
Through a blend of theory, case studies, discussions and exercises, the Ethics and Organizational Values workshop will allow you to develop sound ethical reasoning practices in a highly interactive atmosphere. You will learn, along with other police leaders from across Canada, how to apply ethical decision-making models in the police profession, resulting in improvements in organizational reputation, increased stakeholder goodwill, better employee retention, and decreased costs due to fewer lawsuits arising from ethical mistakes.
